This recent kitchen renovation in Olmsted Falls, Ohio was completed for a homeowner living with a long-outdated layout. The original space featured 15-year-old appliances, peeling thermafoil cabinets with broken hinges, and laminate countertops. An undersized wall oven—too small to fit a standard cookie sheet—further limited functionality. The homeowner was ready for a modern, functional upgrade with bold design contrasts and improved storage solutions.

We began the kitchen renovation by removing all existing cabinets and flooring. New engineered hardwood flooring was installed throughout the space, instantly elevating the aesthetic and providing a durable foundation. Behind the walls, our team updated electrical wiring to support low-voltage under-cabinet and in-cabinet lighting. We also added a new water line for a pot filler faucet and relocated the gas and electric lines to accommodate the new stove placement.

A major highlight of this project was the installation of custom cabinetry, tailored specifically to the homeowner’s needs. Wall cabinets were increased from 39 inches to 56 inches in height, dramatically improving storage. In addition, the half wall behind the sink was lowered to make room for 12-inch deep base cabinets, expanding both counter space and storage. Functional features like toe-kick drawers, a microwave drawer, a USB charging station, and an in-cabinet mixer lift added convenience without compromising style.

The homeowner selected materials with visual contrast in mind. Custom cabinetry in mixed finishes was paired with Cambria quartz countertops, offering both elegance and durability. A standout element in the design was the walnut wood countertop—sealed with epoxy—installed above the sink, which brought warmth and character to the space.

To further enhance the functionality of this kitchen renovation, we created a dedicated coffee and wine bar at the rear of the room. This built-in niche serves as both a beverage center and a storage solution, keeping countertop appliances out of sight while providing a polished, organized look.

The result is a fully modernized kitchen with custom cabinetry, high-end finishes, and smart storage—all carefully designed to suit the homeowner’s lifestyle.
