Brad and Danelle’s late 1990s traditional colonial was functional for its time, but it no longer suited their modern living needs. The original layout featured small, separate dining and kitchen areas—along with a half bath in a less-than-ideal location. To create an open and contemporary living space, the entire area was demoed and a load-bearing wall was removed. This structural change required reworking the second-floor HVAC supply and return lines, followed by the installation of a flush-mount LVL beam to ensure stability.
The kitchen renovation introduced stunning two-tone cabinetry. The oversized island was crafted in a rich walnut finish with seating for eight while the perimeter cabinetry featured a classic white paint with a glaze application, which enhanced the overall aesthetic. The cabinetry was meticulously designed using high-quality, all-wood construction with dovetailed drawers and soft-close mechanisms on both doors and drawers—ensuring durability and ease of use.
To maximize functionality, the half bath was relocated to the laundry area, which made room for additional cabinetry and the creation of a stylish coffee and wine bar. The combination of design and functionality turned this kitchen into a hub for both everyday living and entertaining.
Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring was installed throughout the entire first floor—with the exception of the office—adding a seamless flow to the new open-concept layout. The stairway wall was reworked to complement the newly designed space, further enhancing the openness and functionality of the home.
This high-quality cabinetry and thoughtful design kitchen remodel, transformed Brad and Danelle’s colonial into a modern, inviting space that perfectly suits their lifestyle. Whether hosting family gatherings or enjoying a quiet morning at the coffee bar, the new layout offers both style and convenience.
